Christina Dickinson served as Deputy Counsel for the NYS Senate Democratic Conference. She began her tenure in State government in 1997 as a legislative intern and later aide to several different senators. In 1999 she began law school while working for then Senator Thomas K. Duane (D-NYC), former Chair of the Senate Health Committee, and continued to serve with Senator Duane through graduation in 2002. This position gave her the opportunity and experience to learn a myriad of issues facing residents of New York City on a regular basis, such as landlord-tenant, healthcare, tax issues, criminal justice matters, and post-9/11 response and assistance, as he was the representative of the World Trade Center site at the time. In 2003, Ms. Dickinson was admitted to the NYS Bar and moved into Counsel’s Office for the Senate Democratic Conference, where she worked under two different Senate Democratic leaders, eventually being promoted to Deputy Counsel. This position afforded her the opportunity to be Floor Counsel where she worked on numerous issues, and was able to develop a close, professional relationship with each member of the Senate Democratic Conference. Ms. Dickinson served in this capacity until her departure in December 2008.
A member of the New York State Bar, she received her J.D. from Albany Law School and her BA in political science with a minor in philosophy from SUNY Albany
