Prior to interning with Dickinson & Avella, PLLC, Aung worked closely with the NY Democratic Party in the Capital Region during the 2022 election cycle. With local Albany politicians and leaders, Aung helped manage the Democratic campaign in the Capital District and the North Country to elect Democratic candidates up and down the ballot. Aung has also garnered extensive campaign experience from local and advocacy group political campaigns prior to working with the NY Democratic Party.
Aung first gained legislative experience while working with the National Community Oncology Dispensing Association (NCODA), where he tracked and analyzed legislation regarding healthcare costs and oncology across various state governments. While working with NCODA and pharmacy specialists, he also transcribed related legislation for the public to spread awareness about cancer risks and healthcare costs. At the same time, Aung was involved in numerous qualitative and quantitative political projects at the University of Albany and the Smithsonian researching and analyzing cybersecurity in elections, voting patterns, and national legislative trends.
Aung graduated cum laude with a BA in Political Science from the University of Albany and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration at Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy.
