Eglantina joined Dickinson & Avella in 2017 and works closely with clients on their legislative, budgetary, and advocacy needs.
Prior to joining Dickinson & Avella, Eglantina worked for an Albany-based lobbying firm where she was instrumental in advocating on behalf of clients before key policymakers including the NYS Legislature, Governor's Office, and Government Agencies.
Eglantina has also served in the Government Relations Department in the Office of the President at the University at Albany. In this position, she assisted the Government Relations team in writing the University’s legislative agenda while strategizing and advancing university initiatives. More specifically, Eglantina worked on progressing the NYSUNY 2020 legislation, which provided additional funding to the University to strengthen its academic programs and generate economic growth.
She started her career in 2013 working for the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA). In this role, Ms. Haxhillari read and analyzed legislation impacting NYS workers and prepared position memos that advanced CSEA’s efforts in representing the interest of members and workers throughout the state.
Eglantina has also served at the Center for Women in Government & Civil Society, helping to expand leadership opportunities for women and close gender inequities.
Eglantina graduated summa cum laude from the University at Albany and received her Master of Public Administration from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy.
She was recently recognized as a Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy Rising Star Alum and was named a City & State 2018 Albany 40 Under 40 Rising Star.
